Astrology and relationships: what compatibility really looks like in a chart

Ask the internet whether two signs are compatible and you will get a grid. Ask a chart, and you get a conversation. Relationship astrology looks at how two full charts interact, not at two words.
The placements that matter most
- Venus — what you value, how you show affection, what feels like care.
- Mars — desire, drive, how you handle friction.
- Moon — what you need to feel safe with someone.
- Mercury — how you talk things through when it matters.
Aspects describe the texture
A trine between two charts often feels easy; a square often feels energising and occasionally abrasive. Neither is a verdict. Aspects describe texture and patterns, not outcomes.
Using astrology well in relationships
The most useful thing a chart offers a relationship is language. It gives you a way to name a pattern you have both been feeling but could not articulate.
